Zhenghua Secondary School was establish on 15 December 1999. The founding principal was Ms Cynthia Goh. Ms Cynthia Goh retired from education service in December 2002. Mr Lim Kuan Min who was former Bishan Park Secondary School principal took over as the second principal.
