Fajar Secondary School was started in January 1994. The first Principal was Mr Law Ngee Seng (1994–1995) and the second Principal was Mr Saminathan Gopal (1995–2001). Mdm Goh Mee Mee succeeded as the Principal in 2001 to 2007. Mdm Ng Shok Yan became its fourth Principal in 2008. The FAJAR values (Learn with Humility, Give with joy, Shine with Confidence) and the Social Emotional Competencies form the foundation of our Character Development Framework.

The CCA available here include Art Club, Asian Cultural Club, Infocomm Club, Library, Science & Environment Club, Choir, Drama, Dance, Symphony Band, badminton, basketball, football, Judo, Shooting, Softball, Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, NCC, NPCC, Scouts and St John’s Ambulance Brigade.
